Late October was the last I worked on the book until this week. Life happens and you adjust accordingly. But I'm ready to dig in and finish.
When I start writing a new chapter I have no idea where it will go and often amazed at the turns and twists it takes. At this point I still don't know exactly how it will end but the end is in sight.
I am including with this blog an excerpt from Chapter One:
Pouring into Gabriella’s mind was the local legend passed
from generation to generation that there was a cave in this desert region called the
“place of the fallen stars”. The Bedouins called it the
chambers of the abyss where the angels that fell from heaven were held in
captivity until their release at the end of days…a place known in the study of
mythical gods as Tartarus.
“Am I standing where
no man should tread? Could this be the
place that mythical legends blend into reality?” An unseen force was pulling her deeper and
deeper in to the darkness.
The entire team seemed to feel a sinister force encircling
them. Caleb broke the mysterious hold
when he demanded, “Let’s get the pictures and samples we need and get out of
here.” The work was completed and the
team started back out of the inner recesses of the cave’s lava tubes. They all sensed the mystery and trepidation
of their find. They knew this was a day
that would change their lives forever.
As they exited the cave Gabriella could not shake the eerie
feeling that someone or some “thing”….was watching.
